Gauritar Cricket Ground Ready to Host Bagmati T20 Cup 2026

Hetauda's long-awaited Gauritar Cricket Ground is finally open for play. After two years of construction and an investment of NRs 11.74 crore, the ground situated in Gauritar, Hetauda, Makwanpur is complete and ready to welcome competitive cricket.

The facility has drawn early praise for its playing surface, with the outfield drawing particular attention for its quality finish. A parapet on one side of the ground offers spectator seating, giving local fans a dedicated space to follow the action.


First Tournament: Bagmati T20 Cup 2026

The ground will mark its inauguration in style, hosting the Bagmati T20 Cup 2026 as its very first competitive tournament. The Bagmati T20 Cup is the district-level senior T20 cricket tournament of Bagmati Province, bringing together teams from across the region to compete for provincial bragging rights.

The tournament is scheduled to get underway on Sunday, May 31.


Host Makwanpur Name Their Squad

As the host district, Makwanpur have already announced their squad ahead of the tournament. Subh Kansakar has been named captain of the side and will lead the team in front of what promises to be an enthusiastic home crowd at the new venue.


The completion of the Gauritar Cricket Ground is a significant milestone for cricket in Makwanpur, providing the district with a dedicated facility to develop and showcase the sport at the grassroots level.
