Kabita Kunwar provided late acceleration with a quickfire 33 off just 15 deliveries, smashing four boundaries and one six at a strike rate of 220.00. Her aggressive knock helped Nepal reach a competitive total of 126/6 in 20 overs.

Defending 127, Nepal’s bowlers kept the contest alive throughout the chase. Malaysia appeared comfortable at several stages but Nepal repeatedly struck back with timely wickets.
Riya Sharma delivered one of her best spells of the tournament, claiming 3 wickets for 20 runs in her three overs. Rubina Chhetry also impressed with 2 wickets, while Manisha Upadhayay picked up 2 wickets and conceded only 14 runs from her four-over spell.
At one stage Malaysia were reduced to 117/8, giving Nepal hope of an incredible comeback. However, the Malaysian lower order held its nerve and guided the team home with eight balls remaining.
